Cotswolds in a day?

Want to spend the day on a countryside tour exploring the Cotswolds? We have the perfect options for you! If you are planning a trip to England this year, do not miss out on visiting the beautiful Cotswold region, an easy train ride from London Paddington or Oxford.

We often get asked...'Can you explore the Cotswolds in a day?' the answer is 'Yes, Yes, Yes!' We know that many travellers to the UK want to spend at least a day out exploring the English countryside. The Cotswolds is fabulously accessible from major cities like London & Oxford, making it the perfect choice. However once you arrive by train, how can you really get to explore the region, especially when there is limited public transport. Of course you could hire a car, but then you have to spend the day navigating the tiny narrow lanes, trying to find somewhere to park & wondering where to go....So the ideal solution is taking a tour with a local. Forget huge coaches filled with passengers, Cotswolds Guided Tours takes a maximum of 7 guests. We have private tour options or mixed group tours to choose from, so there is something for every budget, with our mixed group tours starting at £45 per person.

Why choose Cotswolds Guided Tours?

The reasons why you should choose our Cotswold tour company:

  1. We have been rated as one of the top 10 tour operators in the UK by 'TravellersQuest'

  2. We have 700 highly rated reviews on TripAdvisor, meaning you can take our Cotswolds tour with confidence. (693, 5* reviews & 7, 4* reviews)

  3. We only run 'small group tours', you will never be packed onto a large bus! When we say small, we mean micro....as we only take up to 7 guests. This means you get plenty of time to ask questions from your guide for a more personal experience.

  4. We are local & live in the Cotswolds. Meaning you will enjoy travelling down quiet country lanes, rather than being stuck in traffic & visit only the very best locations.

  5. We are passionate about the area & fill your tour with fun, quirky & interesting facts. All the information is delivered via live microphone commentary as we drive between each location, this way when we stop you can maximise your time exploring.

  6. You have lots of free time to explore! We know guests want to see as much as possible without feeling rushed. For this reason, we have selected the best locations & clustered them geographically. This means the maximum time you spend between locations in the minibus is 20mins!

  7. Our 9 seater minibus is small enough to travel down the narrow lanes & we can visit villages that the larger tour buses are exempt from visiting. Yes that's right, buses larger than 9 seats are not allowed to visit certain villages in the Cotswolds, this means if you travel on a larger bus you will be missing some truly beautiful locations!

  8. We only visit the VERY best locations, so you will see a selection of 'honeypot' villages, note worthy because of their continued popularity with visitors. But don't worry! We visit these locations early in the morning to avoid the crowds. We also include a selection of beautiful, quiet off the beaten track locations, only known to locals, so you get to see the very best of the Cotswolds.

  9. If you are travelling to the Cotswolds by train, we can meet you at Moreton in Marsh Railway Station (& store your luggage on the minibus). In fact all our mixed group Cotswold tours start at Moreton in Marsh Railway Station because it is so accessible. Our Private Cotswold tours include free collection / return from your accommodation, anywhere in the North Cotswolds.

  10. We offer our guests a personal experience, we take pride in our customer service & are on hand to answer any questions you may have, before, during or after your Cotswold tour.
